Christmas is most likely on our minds ever since Black Friday. Everyone is rushing around for deals to get the perfect present for their family. Then at home Mom is baking away. In the air you smell sugar cookies, buckeyes, chocolate chips, peppermint bark, and tons more. Even driving down the road you can see the Christmas lights shining through the dark winter night. The colors are so vivid and bright–you can see green, red, blue, white, and many more.
However, when you put up the Christmas tree with your family, it is good to remember that this time of year is about family and friends. All the beautiful presents sitting under the tree when you wake up Christmas morning is exciting and fun, but remember your family is the best gift you could ever receive.
Sometimes people can forget about the truth about Christmas. It is the time to celebrate your family and to spend time with them. We always have to rush around to be at Grandma’s on time for presents. Then we have go to your aunt’s for dinner, and then circle back around for any other family member and receive more presents.
The holidays can seem to be a hassle, but my advice to anyone who feels this way is to take a deep breathe and look around you. Notice who you get to spend this chaotic holiday with. Remember, don’t forget the joy this Christmas, and especially the family that surrounds you.
