Freshman Trip to D.C.

Elisabeth Hook, Writer

The tradition continues! This year, a new group of freshman experienced the three day trip to our nation’s capitol that the majority of the upperclassman  enjoyed when they were freshman themselves.

Over the course of the three days, students saw many historical landmarks, monuments, and tour the city. Some of these sights included the Holocaust Museum, Lincoln Memorial, and Arlington National Cemetery. While at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington Nation Cemetery, Peyton Kirkpatrick, Shylie Shreckengost, and Paiton Rizzo participated in the Changing of the Wreath ceremony.

The freshman trip to Washington D.C. is Redbank tradition that must be continued. It is a fun way to bond with your classmates while learning about our nation’s history. Eighth graders, do not miss out on the trip next year.
