Stephen Curry, You Are Insane!

Jarrett Bailey, Sports Writer

After a Summer full of glitz and glamor, an NBA MVP Award, and a championship parade, it was time for Stephen Curry to lead his Warriors through another season. So far, it looks as if Curry and his team never left the hardwood. The Warriors have one their first 4 games and are averaging 119 points per game while holding their opponents’ total to just 94 ppg, including holding the Grizzlies to just 69 en route to a 50 point win, the worse loss in Grizzlies history. Through these 4 games, Stephen Curry is averaging 37 points, 6.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game, along with shooting 60% from the floor and 49% from beyond the arc. We saw the definition of insane ball handling and passing on display in the Warriors’ 119-69 devastating win over Memphis as Curry faked a pass behind his back, got the ball back to his right hand, and split the gap to an open teammate cutting through the lane for an easy layup (if you want to see the full video, check out all the highlights in the game recap on It’s not just that Curry is dominating the game, it’s the fact that he is doing it and making it look easy. Whether its making no look, behind the back passes to wide open teammates or hitting what seems to be three after three, almost doing it effortlessly. One thing is for sure right now; Steph is playing like a man among boys right now and making his own case for an MVP repeat. He’s had my attention from day one since he came to the Warriors after being drafted from Davidson. We are only 5 games into the NBA, so this year should be a lot of fun if Steph can keep up this level of play. So far, from what I’ve seen, there’s is no reason to think that he can’t.
