Q & A with Tennessee Defesive Back Commit Edwin White

Q+%26+A+with+Tennessee+Defesive+Back+Commit+Edwin+White

With Tennessee losing such a key aspect to their defensive backs in Nigel Warrior, it is time for someone else to step into that key role. Two big returners are Juniors Bryce Thompson and Alontae Taylor. With the commitment of Edwin White from Mobile, Alabama, the Vols should be getting another talented DB to join the roster in 2021.

White had offers from some powerhouse schools including Mississippi State, Kanas, Ole Miss, and more. He is at the moment a three-star recruit and should be able to increase that with a solid senior season. For White, he has a lot of upsides, put on a little bit of weight and he is the perfect build for a defensive back. Overall, this is a very good signing for Tennessee as he should prove to be a great talent for the team.

Q: You got offers from some top colleges, what made you choose Tennessee over the rest?

A: They were the most loyal and upfront about my college career.

Q: Winning a state championship once is awesome in itself, but three times is insane. What made that team that you were a part of so special?

A: The leadership and commitment to the team.

Q: Tennessee has a great core at the defensive back, how are you going to stand out?

A: I’m coming in competing for a spot.

Q: During this Coronavirus what have you done to keep yourself at peak physical condition?

A: I still workout at home, I still do 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups and 50 squats at night and run during the day.

Q: You’re getting to play the sport that you love at the D1 level. A kid’s dream, what would you like to say to a kid trying to live their dream?

A: Nobody believes in you if you don’t believe in yourself so be your greatest and hard work.
