Hallway Decorating Spirit Challenge

7th grade hallway

Mrs. DiGiammarino asked Mrs. Weaver, Student Council adviser, if STUCO would be fine with her managing a hallway decorating contest for Homecoming Spirit Week to show more school spirit and make the school environment happier.   Weaver said that the council had already thought of the idea themselves–so she encouraged DiGiammarino to go ahead.

“I thought that the school was ready to show their school spirit because a few grades decorated hallways for the holidays and other events last year,” explained DiGiammarino. All grades we assigned a hallway to decorate in two weeks’ time to show  school spirit.

In the end, four of the six grades participated.  The tenth grade hallway took second place with a clever entrance design featuring the bulldog mouth and tongue.  Seventh grade took first place with a fall activities theme and an explosion of school colors.

The winners received a candy shower at the pep rally.

I think this should continue to happen in the years coming. Allowing the students to participate in showing their school spirit makes the school a happier place.
