Q: What began your interest in welding?

A: My step-dad told me about underwater welding.

Q: Explain the process you had to go through.

A: I had to fill out an application for the Career Center and wait to get accepted.

Q: How much can you do with your new skill?

A: I can build buildings and bridges to smaller stuff like air conditioners.

Q: What do you plan to do with this skill?

A: I plan to join the Steamfitters Union and work for them.  When I retire, I want to start a small repair shop. I’ll do this with the money I  earn from honing in my skill.

Q: Would you advise others to go to tech for welding and why?

A: Yes, it is a very much needed skill in the United States and not many people realize this. They all push for colleges when that’s not the only way to make a living.

Q: What do you do outside of school?

A: I play video games and work on small stuff with my dad and weld anything we need fixed.

Q: What are your other interests and hobbies?  

A: I play soccer and work at Burger King

Q: What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?   

A: I see myself working in the Steamfitters Union and building my dream house.
