Cole Anthony Writes the Next Chapter

April 23, 2019 was a really big day for UNC fans as the Number 2 prospect coming into college commits to the Tar Heels. Cole Anthony is from Portland, OR.  As a fan of the Tar Heels, Iam really excited for next season already. Cole had a 96 grade percentage from the scout, and he also was a five-star recruit before he signed with the team.

Anthony, a 6’ 3”, 185 lb point guard from Oak Hill Academy is monster on the court; some might say he is a combo guard. Anthony plays both like a  point guard and a shooting guard. His senior season he transferred to Oak Hill Academy and put on a show for the fans.  Anthony ended his high school career at Oak Hill by playing a total of 26 games and averaging around 20 points per game. Anthony was 50% from the field, and attempted 110 free throws, making 95 of them. Those are good numbers. Anthony is the best 3-point shooter; he has had a 36%. He 112 three-pointers and only made  41. Cole had a total of 468 points his senior season. It is good for him only playing one season.

Cole participated in the  McDonald’s All- American game and also was in the Jordan Classic game. In the McDonald’s game, Cole was the MVP. Cole played in the game for 21 minutes and put on a show for the crowd. He almost had a double-double 14 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. Anthony lead that game in blocks and steals. Not only did Cole with the MVP but the last years Mcdonald’s All-American game Nassir Little, a North Carolina Basketball player, was also the MVP of the game. The two will both be a great duo at UNC.

On April 20, 2019, Cole as so played in the Jordan Brand Classic game. With the show, he put on at that game made college scouts look at him a more than they were. Cole put up a 25 point game and he was the leading scoring between the two teams.  Cole was scoring great and the best part was he was getting his team involved as well with his 6 assists. It is important for a guard like himself to be both scoring and dishing the ball to his teammates. Not only did he light up the scorecard with 25 points and 6 assists, but he got it done defensively as well with 4 steals and a block. Cole would la get the Jordan Classic MVP as well. Cole’s friend and North Carolina committee Armando Bacot also had a really good game with his 14 points, 10 rebounds, and his 3 assists.

I personally love him what he does is unbelievable. With all these great players UNC is getting they said that they are not done with there recruitment yet. As of me being a Tar Heels fan, this is great news for me. I am going to be so excited for the next season already. I was watching Cole in high school and seeing what he can do on the court and hoping he can do all these astonishing things for Coach Roy Williams.
