Lynyrd Skynyrd- Simple Man

Lynyrd Skynyrd was originally formed in 1964 as My Backyard. The band was also known as The Noble Five and One Percent before finally deciding on Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1969. The band was the “country” music of the 1960-1970s. When the band was at its most popular stage,  a plane crash took the lives of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines and Cassie Gaines. The band then stopped performing throughout 1970s. The rest of the members regrouped in 1987. Lynyrd Skynyrd has sold 28 million records in the United States. They were placed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006. The band is still performing today.
