At the meet, Clint Thurston received first place in bench press (355 pounds) and dead lift (585 pounds). His dead lift of 585 pounds broke a 13-year-old record which was only 550 pounds. Clint also received first place overall, which means that he was the strongest athlete based on body weight.

John Tibbs earned first place in the dead lift with a weight of 490 pounds.
